Mara and Bonnie were colleagues earlier in their careers, and have remained business colleagues for the last 15 years. Each went on to start her own PR firm after leaving The Horn Group. Harris formed B3 Communications in 1999 and Stefan formed Emerge Public Relations in 2005. After seeing a need to better serve the national market, the two have brought together a wealth of talent and best practices to build a national, virtual agency better addressing the changing market needs of their clients.
Bonnie Harris
Also having more than 20 years of public relations and marketing experience, Bonnie has worked extensively with both privately held and publicly traded technology companies. Prior to co-founding Emerge Media Communications, she ran B3 Communications for 13 years and was with the Horn Group for 4 years prior to that. B3 Communications is a San Francisco based boutique firm that has been successful with companies such as Cast Iron Systems, Scribe Software, PARTsolutions, Documentum, ModelN, Autodesk, Rubric Software, and Solidcore to name a few.
Bonnie served on the Horn Group’s management team and was responsible for operations, agency business development, and strategic client service in the San Francisco office. During her tenure, she laid the foundation of her pre-IPO expertise by working with a number of companies through their public offerings, including NEON, Brio Software, and Actuate Software. She also worked with best selling business book authors Geoffrey Moore and Tom Kippola to promote their successful investment strategy book, The Gorilla Game.
Mara Stefan
With more than 20 years in professional services, Mara has helped hundreds of companies navigate early market challenges. Prior to co-founding Emerge Media Communications in January 2011, Mara ran her own PR firm, EmergePR PR, for 5 years and spent 11 years with the Horn Group, a digital services firm. During her tenure with the Horn Group, she launched the company’s Boston office.
While serving as the founder and partner respectively, Mara has driven PR and marketing strategy for hundreds of emerging growth companies. She has also provided strategic counsel to well-known market leaders, including Cognos, Harte-Hanks, Netegrity, PeopleSoft, and Sophos among others. Mara has worked with best-selling business book authors such as Geoffrey Moore for Crossing the Chasm and Inside the Tornado as well as Patricia Seybold for Customers.com and The Customer Revolution to elevate each as a thought leader in the business community.
